USPS via GMAIL
I'm pretty paperless, but know I can be paper free with Earth Class Mail, based in Seattle. They have a partnership with Swiss post whereby you can have our mail opened, scanned and emailed to you. They will the archive it or shred it. Sounds like me!!!
It is available in the US and they work like a postal box where you have your mail sent to them.
Security would be my main concern - so far no breaches, but I'll wait on this one.

Mini Laptop
I'm on the hunt for a new mini laptop and so is @itsjustgoldie.
I read David Pogue
religiously though I won't say that he is my religion.
I recently walked into Best Buy here in California. Their website didn't offer much.
I found that the Toshiba mini was the best they had on offer. And had the best battery life 9 HOURS!!!!
Later went on New Egg. The Toshiba reviews were good and the Samsung too (best speakers and battery life). I have seen people with Samsung's but haven't seen any in stores.
My experience with lightweights is an IBM refurb X5 It worked for about 3 years.
I realize now that yes I am a MAC addict, but hey if Steve Jobs doesn't want to build a mini what can I do, dude just got a new liver. I'm sure he's focused on his health.
That said if your looking at a mini play around with the keyboard I replaced mine twice in the first 90 days. I was not used to its delicacy and 3d time I cracked it - I was out of warranty and I didn't care - it still worked. And hey it was a refurb!
I think this is why Mac switched from lift up keyboards (didn't crack my G4, but had to replace sticky keyboard 2x) to the current design.
I would say besides the keyboard get the basics you want, because some are loaded with HD space and some are :( not. The RAM is pretty much the same on all of them. And remember not everyone knows how to build a mini. If you think you'll drop it = it will break.
The Toshiba is bit heavier and you will have to adjust to a cramped keyboard, but put it in your hands and think "if I drop this right now will it break or just bounce off the floor". I don't actually recommend dropping it, but you get what I'm saying.
I'm not commenting on other brands because a) they are not in my experience or b) I picked them up and knew I would have the same keyboard or other issues.

Walking on Water
OK so I have no dreams of living on a self-sustaining houseboat or an oil rig for that matter, but if you do read here.
I think I prefer to stay on land and see if I can land a prefab with some solar panels.
